1940s Pink Baby Bunting & Hood - Infants Layette Silk Crepe Hand Sewn Embroidery

Description

A pink baby bunting and hood in fine silk crepe, so prettily embroidered in baby pink crow's foot embroidery with pale blue French knots. The matching hood is original to the bunting, with a ribbon drawstring at center top. Both pieces are lined in flannel, with a silk lining to the hood. This little bundle of joy is convenient and cozy, shaped just right to warm baby head to toe. .

Condition Detail
Shows its age in subtle ways, the zipper has two beige liquid dots (see photo), the interior of hood has similar mild discoloration, fray to ends of ribbons, the hood shows threadbare edges at its center front and buttonhole area, the hood's top has three 1/4-inch holes and the bottom of the bunting has one hole similarly sized, all would be subtle but overall a touch shabby, best for portraits or costume
Washing Instructions
Dry clean if needed, use a net bag to avoid snags or abrasion
