    Description

    Beautifully stitched and completed
long band sampler stitched by Marjorie Buending in 1994
    and ready to frame.
This piece is unframed and in pristine condition.
This is another absolutely gorgeous band sampler. I don't know if Marjorie Buending designed it but she clearly stitched it. It's full of color and complexity. It represents hours of careful stitching. If you recognize this pattern, please let me know.
There's a collection of narrow and wide multicolored bands, each one nicer than the next, stitched with many different specialty stitches.
Motifs include flowers, berries, geometrics, and more and more including a complete upper case alphabet.
    Text reads
"Let us govern our lives and
thoughts as if the whole worl
d, were to see the one, and to
    read the other,
for what does it signify to m
ake anything a secret to our
friends, when to God, who is
the searcher of our hearts, all
    our Privacies are open.

Stitches include cross stitch (over 1 and over 2), eyelets (several kinds), queen, satin, and backstitching.
The finished design measures approximately 4-1/4" x 17-3/4" on a piece of unbleached linen that measures 10-1/2" x 24".
If you always wanted to stitch a long band sampler with many different stitches but realize you never will, here it is already stitched and ready to frame. Or if you have always desired a classic band sampler, here is one beautifully stitched and ready to frame.
Enlarge the photos of front and back to see the excellent technique of the stitcher.
I will mail this rolled to avoid creasing the sampler.
